This year, on 25 December, we will present a recording of the 26th Traditional Christmas Concert of the Sofia Boys’ Choir at the Community Cultural Centre “Tsar Boris III – 1928”, originally performed at the National Palace of Culture.
As tradition has it, we hope to meet you once again on Christmas Day at 5:00 p.m., live on Facebook, to share the festive spirit together.
The concert, entitled “Christmas Musical Impressions,” was included in the New Year’s Music Festival at the National Palace of Culture. The programme presents a rich palette of Christmas moods, featuring both well-known and rarely heard Christmas songs from various European countries. The arrangements are by Atanas Atanasov, Gordon Langford, and Ernst-Thilo Kalke. In addition to Bulgarian, the choir performs in seven foreign languages, highlighting the international spirit of the programme.
A special place in the concert is dedicated to Bulgarian music and Bulgarian Christmas traditions. The Sofia Boys’ Choir was the first in Bulgaria to introduce traditional Bulgarian carolling songs into its Christmas concert programmes—an artistic hallmark that has since become a cherished tradition.
Special guests of the concert are the chamber ensemble BNR Soloists, led by Hristo Pavlov.
