At an official ceremony held today at the National Gallery “The Palace”, the Minister of Culture, Boil Banov, presented awards to prominent figures in the field of culture.
On the occasion of May 24th – the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and the Slavic Script – and in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Sofia Boys’ Choir, its conductor, Professor Dr. Adriana Blagoeva, was awarded the prestigious “Golden Age” Order – Star and a diploma from the Ministry of Culture. The honor recognizes her outstanding contribution to the development and affirmation of Bulgarian culture and national identity.
In her words, “Every award is a significant event in an artist’s life.”
“I have been with this ensemble for almost 30 years. I was fortunate to begin my work immediately after the founding conductor, Lilyana Todorova. We had the opportunity to work together, which allowed for a smooth transition in leadership. My life’s path has been entirely devoted to this choir,”
said Prof. Blagoeva in an interview for Radio Sofia.
What else did Adriana Blagoeva share with Daniela Benisheva about the “Golden Age” award and the Sofia Boys’ Choir, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a concert at Bulgaria Hall on June 21 — listen in the audio file:
