On 25 December 2014, at 6:00 p.m., in Hall No. 6 of the National Palace of Culture (Entrance A6), the 26th Traditional Christmas Concert of the Sofia Boys’ Choir at the Community Cultural Centre “Tsar Boris III – 1928” will take place, conducted by Adriana Blagoeva, Prof. PhD.
The concert, entitled Christmas Musical Impressions, is included in the programme of the New Year Music Festival at the National Palace of Culture.
In this festive programme, the Sofia Boys’ Choir presents a rich palette of Christmas musical moods, featuring both well-known and rarely performed Christmas songs from various European countries. The arrangements are by Atanas Atanasov, Gordon Langford, and Ernst-Thilo Kalke. In addition to Bulgarian, the choir will sing in seven other foreign languages.
A special place in the programme is devoted to Bulgarian music and the Bulgarian Christmas tradition. The Sofia Boys’ Choir was the first ensemble in Bulgaria to introduce Bulgarian Christmas carols into its traditional Christmas concert programmes.
Special guests of the concert are a brass wind quintet and the BNR Soloists wind quintet.
Piano accompaniment: Zornitsa Getova.
Tickets are available at the ticket centre of the National Palace of Culture.
An interview about the concert can be viewed on the Bulgarian National Television.
You are warmly invited.
