Dear friends,
This year, on 25 December, we will share with you a recording of the 25th Traditional Christmas Concert of the Sofia Boys’ Choir at the Community Cultural Centre “Tsar Boris III – 1928”, originally performed in Bulgaria Concert Hall.
At 6:00 p.m., we will broadcast the recording of this anniversary concert, held in 2013 under the title “Christmas with Friends.” As tradition has it, we hope to meet you once again on Christmas Day at 6:00 p.m., this time live on Facebook, to share the festive spirit together.
The concert was organized by the Sofia Philharmonic and Quarto Quartet, an ensemble affiliated with the Sofia Philharmonic. Under the artistic leadership of violinist Ivan Penchev, the musicians of Quarto Quartet are known for their innovative ideas and refined musical culture.
The anniversary programme once again offers audiences, admirers of the choir, and friends of Quarto Quartet a true aesthetic experience. The concert features Church Slavonic chant, as well as works by Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, Dobri Hristov, Stoyan Babekov, Pavel Chesnokov, and others.
Special guests of the concert are violinist Ivan Vaglarov, singers Ralitsa Ralinova and Vladimir Gegov, flutist Hristo Pavlov, and organist Atanas Atanasov.
